LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Vegas Golden Knights acquired defenseman Parker Wotherspoon from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday in exchange for defenseman Kaedan Korczak, the team announced.
Pittsburgh will retain 50% of Wotherspoon’s salary as part of the deal, according to the Golden Knights.
Wotherspoon, 28, set career highs last season with Pittsburgh, playing 80 games and recording 30 points on three goals and 27 assists, the Golden Knights said.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound defenseman has appeared in 188 NHL games with Pittsburgh, the Boston Bruins and the New York Islanders, totaling 46 points. He has also played 16 postseason games with the Penguins and Bruins, according to the Golden Knights.
Wotherspoon represented Canada at the 2026 IIHF World Championship in May, posting four points in 10 games and a plus-13 rating, which was second among Canadian defensemen, the team said.
Korczak, 25, played 155 games over five seasons with Vegas, recording 37 points on four goals and 33 assists. He set career highs in 2025-26 with 78 games played and 16 points, according to the team.
Korczak was selected by Vegas in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft. Wotherspoon was a fourth-round pick of the Islanders in 2015.
