LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A recent enforcement conducted by the North Las Vegas Police Department saw officers make contact with dozens of drivers, leading to multiple arrests.

Police say officers made 397 enforcement contacts from June 5–21, issuing 202 citations and 208 warnings. The campaign resulted in 12 DUI arrests, four DUI assists, and nine additional arrests.

During the operation, officers responded to three impaired-driving crashes, administered three preliminary breath tests, conducted 19 field sobriety tests, completed two Drug Recognition Expert evaluations, and obtained five DUI blood search warrants.

Citations included seat belt and child seat violations, speeding, distracted driving, unsafe lane changes, intersection violations, licensing offenses, and other dangerous driving. Officers also spoke with 84 drivers about making safer choices behind the wheel.

The effort is part of Nevada’s statewide traffic safety initiative coordinated by the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety. Officials say officers spent 245 overtime hours and 19.5 regular-duty hours on proactive enforcement to reduce impaired driving and improve safety on North Las Vegas roads.

As of June 29, 2026, NLVPD’s Major Collision Investigation Unit reported six fatal traffic crashes this year, down from 11 at the same point in 2025.

The department also continues working with other agencies through the Southern Nevada Traffic Task Force to address hazardous driving through coordinated enforcement.
