LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Las Vegas judge has agreed to push the trial date for Duane “Keffe D” Davis to 2026.

Judge Carli Kierny granted Davis’ defense attorney’s request to reschedule the trial as he pursues new leads in the case. The trial, originally set to begin next month, has now been pushed to February 9, 2026.

“It looks like there are quite a few things that are left to be done to get this case prepared so that Mr. Davis can have effective assistance of counsel,” Judge Kierny said during Tuesday’s hearing.

Davis is accused of being the person who called for the 1996 drive-by shooting that killed Shakur in Las Vegas. Prosecutors have accused Davis of revealing this information in multiple interviews and his memoir. Surveillance video also shows Tupac and several others fighting Davis’ nephew, Orlando Anderson.

Davis has pleaded not guilty, and his attorney Carl Arnold has previously stated that the comments are not enough to warrant the charges.

Davis is due in court again for a status check on June 17 at 9 a.m.
