LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas Metro police say married couple connected to philanthropic efforts in Las Vegas helped the department purchase a fleet of Cybertrucks.

Sheriff Kevin McMahill revealed the news during the State of the Department address on Feb. 25.

Metro police have purchased a fleet of Tesla Cybertrucks with the help of donations.

“And they didn’t come out of our budget again, they came out of a very generation donation from an individual,” Sheriff McMahill shared.

According to LVMPD Ben and Felicia Horowitz donated 11 Cybertrucks directly to Las Vegas police.

Felicia is the CEO of the Horowitz Family Foundation and is a board member of the Cleveland Clinic Nevada Keep Memory Alive Alzheimer’s initiative.

Ben has an extensive portfolio as a tech investor, according to Forbes.

According to McMahill the fleet was purchased following the Cybertruck explosion outside of the Trump International Hotel on New Year’s Day.

“The cop inside will be safe no matter what, it will stop bullets,” Sheriff McMahill said.
