LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – FOX5 is following a power outage in central Las Vegas that impacted nearly 1,500 customers and UNLV.
NV Energy said the outage started around 1:08 p.m. The outage was on Flamingo Road between Eastern and Maryland.
Initial reports said 1,454 customers were out of power. UNLV said the outage impacted it’s Gateway Building and parking garage, and an administrative building on the Maryland campus.
UNLV said the outage affected traffic signals on Maryland Parkway between Flamingo and Tropicana.
“Please use caution,” UNLV officials said. “UNLV Facilities Management is assisting NV Energy, who is working to restore power. We do not have a time table yet on when power will be restored.”
As of 3:30 p.m., NV Energy said 134 customers are without power.
