LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – 21 people have been arrested in a sex offender compliance check, according to Las Vegas Metro police.

LVMPD says the multi-jurisdictional verification operation took place from June 2 through the 6.

More than 2000 sex offenders were contacted, eight were arrested outside of compliance and 13 additional people were arrested for having sex offense violations and outstanding warrants.

Officials identified the following suspects arrested for failure to obey the law:

  1. Jose Calderon-Moller, 42
  2. Bernard Williams, 47
  3. Martin Pineal, 67
  4. Jeremy Nudo, 49
  5. Ellis Sanders, 73
  6. Jack Avelar, 38
  7. Miguel Llano, 35
  8. Beneroso Baltazar, 29

Police report sex offenders must register and verify their address with law enforcement according to the required regulations. Tier-3 offenders are required to check in quarterly, Tier-2 offenders are required to check in bi-annually, and Tier-1 offenders are required to check in annually. Police also issued a reminder to offenders that they are required to register and verify their addresses based on their tier.

Participating departments included LVMPD, U.S. Marshals Service, Nevada State Police, Henderson Police Department, Boulder City Police Department, North Las Vegas Police Department, and Clark County School District Police Department.
