LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Videos showing fights involving feather girl performers on the Las Vegas Strip have gone viral as victims told police they were assaulted over money.

A family claims a performer took $150 from them after taking a photo, according to an incident report obtained by FOX5.

Two fights on same day

Wings flying and boots swinging were captured in two feather girl fights on September 30.

Police documents show both started when visitors alleged performers overcharged them for photos.

Albert Williams, the man behind the Instagram account @Vegas.Nightlife, caught an incident on the South Strip through his Meta glasses.

“That’s not the first fight I’ve seen out here, by far,” Williams said.

“I mean, it’s, it’s almost never 10, 20 bucks. Almost never. It’s always, Oh, they got me for 50, 60,” he said.

Williams said performers get visitors to agree to a price, separate them from friends, then demand tips.

“What they do is they like, they get you to agree to the price. Then they separate you from your friend, and then they’re like, okay, well, you gotta tip me, while the other girls over there saying, oh, you gotta tip me,” Williams said.

Police reports detail assaults

On the night of Sept. 30, one woman said a performer shoved her to the ground after she was confronted over a $150 charge.

Hours earlier, Metro responded to another brawl mid-Strip where a North Carolina couple said they were struck 22 times.

An arrest report said the couple was attacked after tipping $20, with performers demanding $60-180. The report said performers went after the wife, and when the husband intervened, he was struck in the head with a boot and left with a 2-inch laceration.

The arrest report shows another customer said they were charged $218 after agreeing to pay $60 by tap.

Regulation and enforcement

Williams said some take advantage of tourists and when drinking is involved, things can escalate quickly.

When asked how often he has seen things turn violent, Williams said with performers at least once or twice a month.

While he believes more regulation is needed, Williams says Metro already has a strong presence in the area.

“Like I’ve had friends hit me up and be like, oh man, ever since that video, it’s gotten a little rough,” Williams said.

The feather girl in Williams’s video was cited for battery by police.

Clark County put up ‘Tips Not Required’ PSAs on the Strip this week. They said they want to protect tourists from harassment and make sure they know they don’t have to tip for photos or performances.
