LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The man accused of shooting and killing two people near a Las Vegas Strip resort will stay behind bars, for now.
A judge ordered Manuel Ruiz to be held without bail Tuesday, and he did not have much to say to the judge.
It was stark contrast to what a viral livestream allegedly shows.
The video was taken by victim Rodney Finley and his wife Tanisha.
Rodney is known as “Finny Da Legend” on YouTube and Ruiz is known as “Sin City Manny.”
FOX5 obtained the arrest report for Ruiz. He claims he shot Rodney and his wife Tanisha in “self defense.”
According to the arrest report, both Youtubers were live steaming from Las Vegas Boulevard Sunday night.
A viewer watching Rodney’s livestream said he saw comments from others also watching Manny’s YouTube livestream. According to the report, the comments said Manny was across the street at the Paris Hotel and was looking for Finny.
About five minutes later, the viewer says he saw “Manny appear on Finny’s livestream and saw Manny pull a gun from his front waistband,” the report said.
The video shows Ruiz allegedly firing several rounds.
Ruiz told investigators he saw “Finny reaching for his waistband and asked ”what’s up cuz” in an aggressive manner. Ruiz told police he believed he saw Rodney reach for a gun.
Moments later, Tanisha could be seen panicking and grabbing the camera her husband set up earlier. However, the gun is then turned on her.
Ruiz told police he saw “a shiny black object in her hand, which he believed to be a firearm” the report said.
According to the document, Ruiz shot Tanisha twice.
Police say Ruiz ran to the Paris Hotel where he removed his hat and shirt which was later found.
However, when officers got to the scene, Ruiz’s wife told police she believed her husband just shot someone. The arrest report said Ruiz’s wife was walking in front of him and did not witness the shooting herself.
The the next morning, Ruiz walked into a Henderson Police Station after a friend convinced him to turn himself in, according to the report.
The arrest report said while speaking with investigators, Ruiz’ told police “Finny posts content talking negatively about his wife and kids.”
The report indicated the two have been in a feud since 2023.
Ruiz will be in court again Thursday.
