LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas tourism officials released a brand-new, first-of-its-kind campaign for Valley residents called “Locals Unlocked.”
The “locals” tourism page offer hundreds of ideas for kids, staycations, off-Strip options, activities across Southern Nevada and available discounts for locals and families.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitor Authority unveiled the campaign days ago and presented the mission at the board meeting, Tuesday.
2025 tourism numbers have taken a dip due to an economic slump and a drop in international visitors; there are locals who may be holding back on major vacations, as well.
The LVCVA notes that many locals want options.
“We know that some people are opting not to travel far, so let’s show them what they have in their own backyard,” officials said during the Tuesday presentation.
The “Las Vegas with Kids” page has hundreds of options and discounts, including Cowabunga Canyon and Cowabunga Bay.
“We’re the ‘local’ place to go, and so we love being that little piece of paradise where families can come and escape, or adults can come grab a margarita and float the lazy river,” said Regional GM Jessi O’Daniel.
“It’s great for locals to come out and support the business. That is how businesses in this area thrive,” she said. Family packs and summer discounts are forthcoming for the parks, she said.
Want everything free? There’s a page for that, too: Free things to do
