LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Following a Monday avalanche, Lee Canyon reported that it will temporarily remain closed.
“Given the anticipated extreme winter weather conditions tomorrow, officials advise that only residents of the Mt. Charleston area travel to the region. As such, Lee Canyon will be closed tomorrow and potentially Wednesday as a safety precaution.”

Residents and the public are urged to avoid the area and refrain from traveling on Kyle Canyon and Lee Canyon roads until further notice. In a social media post, Nevada State Police reported that both Lee Canyon Rd. and Deer Creek Rd. will be closed Tuesday except for residents due to snow operations.
Four people initially reported missing in the avalanche have been found safe.
