LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Duane “Keffe D” Davis, the man tied to the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur was sentenced Tuesday morning for a jailhouse fight last year.
Davis got into a fight with another inmate in the common area of their housing unit. FOX5 obtained video of the incident in December at the Clark County Detention Center.

Tuesday, Davis received 16 to 40 months for battery and 364 days for a challenge to fight. Both sentences run at the same time.
In court, Davis told the judge he had no intention to fight and described being attacked. He insisted it was self-defense.
“My parents brought me up to protect yourself,” he said. “That’s all I was doing, protecting myself. This is totally wrong. They’re charging me because of who I am.”
Davis also received 224 days credit for time served. As for the Tupac murder case, last month his new attorneys say they are confident he will go to trial in February.
