LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Passengers on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas were rerouted Sunday evening because of smoke and equipment trouble, officials said.
According to a Southwest Airlines spokesperson, a flight from Las Vegas to Tampa, Florida, returned to Harry Reid International Airport on Sunday evening.
The “precautionary return” of Southwest Flight 2829 was prompted by a faint smell of smoke in the cockpit, followed by the failure of one of the plane’s radios, officials said.
“The aircraft landed uneventfully and was cleared by emergency personnel to taxi to the terminal,” a Southwest spokesperson said Monday.
After landing, the passengers on Flight 2829 were placed on another flight to Tampa. Officials apologized for the inconvenience.
