LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A predawn argument tied to rival gang affiliations allegedly ended in a deadly shooting near a Las Vegas recreation area, according to an arrest report released by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
According to an LVMPD arrest report, officers were called around 5:18 a.m. on Saturday, July 18 after a passerby reported a man bleeding on a sidewalk near South Hollywood Boulevard and Park Access Road.
Police say the victim had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the neck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives later found that surveillance video from the area captured a confrontation in a nearby desert lot at Park Access Road and West Access Road. Video shows multiple vehicles arriving and a fight breaking out between four people.

Investigators add that the victim ran from the group and was shot as he fled, with muzzle flashes visible on video. Detectives also reported audio from a nearby camera captured eight gunshots.
Police said crime scene investigators recovered eight spent 9mm casings, along with other items, and followed a blood trail leading away from the lot.
A key witness, identified in the report as a runaway juvenile, told detectives she was with a friend known as “Kassie” when they met up with the victim and one of his friends. She said an argument escalated after two males revealed ties to a rival gang, followed by a fight and gunfire. The witness later identified the suspect, 19-year-old Jayden Torres, in a photo lineup, detectives said.
Investigators also located a damaged Infiniti sedan they believe matches a vehicle seen on surveillance near the shooting, and tied Torres to a Land Rover connected to a prior police stop.
Torres was arrested on Wednesday July 22, and is facing open murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy to commit murder with a deadly weapon charges.
A second person, identified as 16-year-old Kassandra Orozco, was also arrested in connection with the incident Thursday, according to court records that tied the arrested to the incident.
Both Torres and Orozco are due back in court on Tuesday.
