LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office identified human remains found under a concrete slab in a cold case investigation.
Investigators identified the remains belonging to Chester G. Williams III, also known as Chett Williams. His remains were discovered on Aug. 26, 2021, in Dolan Springs, about one hour southeast of Las Vegas, when a homeowner was breaking a concrete slab.
Police say he died from a gunshot wound to the head. He was believed to have been buried for at least ten years.
On July 29, investigators with MCSO received a voicemail from someone saying she might know the identity. She said a man, identified as Williams, had been living with her parents until he suddenly disappeared in 1998 or 1999. The caller said her parents lived on the same street where his remains were found, and remembered her parents poured a slab of concrete at that location after he disappeared.
Her parents were identified as Bea and Alvin Hamilton. Bea died in 2018, and Alvin died in 2006, MCSO officials said.
After the call, investigators said they were able to contact Williams’s relatives on the East Coast, who said he had gone to Arizona to live with a woman named Bea Hamilton.
