LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Friday’s storm brought heavy damage to an Arabian horse show making its Las Vegas debut.
The Global Champions Arabians Tour started Friday near the Wynn but strong winds blew through, knocking down tents and fences.
Officials say their village area at the venue took the biggest hit, fortunately no people or horses were hurt.
They were thankful so many volunteers offered to help clean up and get the space ready for the rest of the weekend.
“It’s very touching. I think that it’s wonderful. They’re great people. They want it to be successful as much as I do. And I am very touched by the fact that so many of them came and worked tonight. Without even being asked,” said Cindy McGown, CEO of the Global Champions Arabians Tour Americas.
Officials say the show will go on Saturday and Sunday.
The event resumes Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight and 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. A special closing ceremony on Sunday will feature a Cirque Greatest Showman performance and a surprise Grammy-nominated artist.
