LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Jose Gutierrez, the 19-year-old driver accused of causing a deadly 12-car crash Tuesday, is expected to make his first appearance in court Friday.

Gutierrez faces two new murder charges, an attempted murder charge, and battery with use of a deadly weapon, according to court records.

The 19-year-old was expected in court yesterday, but could not appear because he was still in the hospital after being seriously injured in the crash.

During the Friday hearing, the judge reaffirmed that Gutierrez would remain in custody without bail, and set his next court date for Tuesday, Nov. 25.

District Attorney Steve Wolfson is expected to speak at 9:45 a.m. FOX5 will be livestreaming.
