LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas welcomed approximately 3.14 million visitors in November, a 5.2% decrease from the same month last year, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

The decline occurred despite major events including the SEMA/Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week tradeshow, the third annual F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix race and three Raiders home games.

Convention attendance holds steady

Convention attendance reached approximately 547,000 people during November, down slightly by 0.2% from November 2024. The SEMA show anchored the month’s convention activity with an estimated 160,000 attendees.

Hotel metrics decline across the board

Hotel occupancy dropped to 79.4%, down 2.0 percentage points from last November. The average daily room rate fell 2.9% to $193.04, resulting in revenue per available room of $153.27, a 5.2% decrease year-over-year.

Room inventory decreased slightly to 149,971 rooms, down 0.6% from November 2024. Total room nights occupied fell 2.9% to 3.57 million.

Strip and downtown performance

The Las Vegas Strip saw occupancy of 82.0%, down 2.3 percentage points from last year. Strip average daily rates declined 1.9% to $208.39, while revenue per available room dropped 4.6% to $170.88.

Downtown Las Vegas experienced steeper declines, with occupancy falling 3.8 percentage points to 66.4%. Downtown room rates dropped 10.0% to $94.08, and revenue per available room decreased 14.8% to $62.47.

Gaming revenue shows mixed results

Clark County gaming revenue increased 2.0% to $1.19 billion in November. Las Vegas Strip gaming revenue declined slightly by 0.6% to $784.3 million, while downtown gaming revenue jumped 10.3% to $87.2 million.

Air travel declines significantly

Harry Reid International Airport processed 4.28 million passengers in November, down 9.6% from the previous year. Year-to-date passenger traffic fell 5.5% to 50.6 million.

Regional destinations show growth

Laughlin saw visitor volume increase 10.6% to 104,000 people in November. Gaming revenue in Laughlin rose 11.6% to $38.0 million.

Mesquite welcomed 68,000 visitors, up 3.0% from last November. Gaming revenue increased 10.7% to $18.2 million.
