LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A pedestrian in a wheelchair was struck by a pickup truck Saturday afternoon near Downtown Las Vegas, police say.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. when an adult male driver in a pickup truck traveling eastbound on Charleston Boulevard struck an adult male pedestrian in a wheelchair who was attempting to cross the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with injuries unknown at this time.

Charleston Boulevard is closed in both directions between Bruce Street and 7th Street.

Impairment is not suspected, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
