LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A man shot a landscaper in the head with a crossbow because he was angry his car had been towed, according to an arrest report released by police.
Investigators identified the suspect as Charles Nichols. Nichols is accused of attacking the landscaper at the Grand Canyon apartment complex near Tropicana Avenue and Grand Canyon Drive. The victim was working at the complex when he was struck and had to be treated at University Medical Center’s trauma unit.
Police say Nichols believed the landscaper was sent by the homeowners’ association to harass him with the noise of a leaf blower, according to the arrest report.
After a two-hour standoff, officers found the crossbow hidden inside an air conditioning vent in Nichols’ apartment, investigators said.
Nichols faces multiple felony charges. A judge set bail at $100,000.
