CALICO BASIN (FOX5) — Search and rescue personnel aboard AIR1 rescued two hikers stranded on Kraft Mountain on Monday afternoon after they became ledged out and suffered heat exhaustion.
The hikers called 911 around 2 p.m. when they were unable to resolve the situation themselves.
Clark County Fire Department personnel from Station 28 responded by ground and accessed the hikers. One hiker received medical care on scene, while the other did not require any.

AIR1 was requested due to one hiker’s heat exhaustion. The hiker was not able to hike out on their own.
AIR1 responded and inserted two SAR officers to the scene. The hiker was escorted a short distance to a suitable extraction point. AIR1 extracted the hiker and both SAR officers. Fire department personnel escorted the other hiker by ground.
AIR1 proceeded to the BLM helipad, where the hiker was transferred to ground personnel.
