LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Families displaced by home fires across Southern Nevada will receive vital emergency relief thanks to a $10,000 grant from the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation to the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada.
Red Cross officials say the funding will directly support disaster workers who provide immediate financial aid for emergency lodging, food, clothing, and other urgent expenses following residential blazes.
Alongside financial help, volunteers also offer emotional support and connect displaced residents with additional community recovery resources, officials add.

“When a home fire happens, our disaster workers can respond within hours to help families with immediate expenses and begin connecting them with additional resources,” said Rachel Flanigan, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Southern Nevada Chapter.
“This grant from the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation will help us continue providing that assistance across Southern Nevada.”
In 2025, the Red Cross says volunteers responded to 265 home fires across Southern Nevada, assisting 1,218 people. Since 2020, regional response teams have aided more than 8,100 residents across more than 1,850 fires.
This marks the third straight year the Red Cross has received funding from the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation, joining more than 45 local organizations supported by the Golden Knights and Henderson Silver Knights in 2026.
Red Cross disaster teams are available around the clock to respond to home fires and other emergencies at no cost to victims.
