LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas’ longest-running haunted attractions are hunting for fresh blood to join their cast of scare actors this Halloween season.
ASYLUM and HOTEL FEAR are making their return to Meadows Mall for their 28th season starting Friday, October 2, as organizers continue searching for new volunteer scare actors to join the cast.
Auditions will take place Saturday, September 26 at 6:30 p.m. outside the attractions in the Meadows Mall northwest parking lot near JCPenney.

No acting experience is necessary, and hopeful scare actors ages 17 and older can secure their spot by signing up online.
This year, the attractions feature two distinct walkthroughs joined by an evolving, cinematic storyline that follows the dark saga of two interconnected families 20 years after original tragic events, organizers say.
The sets have earned national acclaim from outlets including Forbes, Parade, and USA Today, and have served as filming backdrops for productions such as The Immortal Wars and the RUST film trilogy, they add.
Throughout October, the haunts are also hosting several community initiatives:
- “SOCKTOBER”: Collecting new, unopened socks to benefit unhoused individuals throughout Southern Nevada.
- “Scared Pink” (Thursday, Oct. 15): Raising breast cancer awareness with $2 per ticket donated to the cause when guests wear pink.
- Mental Health Support: Continuing 13 years of partnership with the Paradise Ranch Foundation, a local nonprofit providing equine-assisted therapy programs.
