LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Staff from the Las Vegas Aces front office joined Special Olympics Nevada at Liberty High School on Wednesday for “Spread the Word Inclusion Day.”
The group refereed a Unified Basketball Tournament, where students with and without intellectual disabilities played together on the same teams.

C.J. Thomas, the team’s in-game emcee and senior manager of business operations, said mental health and wellness is one of the Aces’ core pillars.
“It’s important for us to be out in the community front and center and enjoying the game that we love,” Thomas said.
Unified Champion Schools program
Special Olympics Nevada said the event is part of its “Unified Champion Schools” program, which uses sports, student leadership, and school-wide events to bring students with and without intellectual disabilities together and allow them to lead the push for inclusion.
