LAS VEGAS (FOX5) —Honor Flight Southern Nevada has announced the deaths of four veterans it served through its program, which takes veterans at no charge to tour their war memorials in Washington, D.C.
Korean War veteran Jack Newman
Seaman First Class Jack Newman, U.S. Navy, served stateside as an IBM operator and later as a corpsman in the active reserves, assisting with medical procedures for new recruits. Newman was a passenger on Mission 23 of Honor Flight Southern Nevada in April 2024.
Korean and Vietnam War veteran George Johnson

Tech Sgt. George Johnson served in Korea and Vietnam as an aircraft mechanic and crew chief, assisting on the flight line and helping load nuclear bombs. Johnson also traveled to Washington, D.C., on the April 2024 Honor Flight trip.

First Lt. Michael Bush, a Vietnam veteran, previously described his helicopter being shot down off the coast of Vietnam in December 1963. Honor Flight Southern Nevada described him as a great friend to the organization.
Vietnam War veteran Don Simon

U.S. Marine and Vietnam veteran Don Simon served in Da Nang from 1963 to 1966 as a combat engineer, according to Honor Flight Southern Nevada.
Honor Flight Southern Nevada said the only difficult part of the Honor Flight story is saying goodbye.
