LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A firefighter was injured after responding to a fire at an east Las Vegas residence Tuesday afternoon.

The incident was reported just before 2:30 p.m. at the 1800 Beesley Drive, near Lake Mead and Hollywood.

According to the Clark County Fire Department, the first unit arrived on scene within four minutes and reported heavy smoke coming from the garage. The fire was brought under control at around 2:34 p.m.

Crews then conducted an initial search of the residence and confirmed no one was inside however two cats were found and returned to their owners.

One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene.

The American Red Cross is providing support to the displaced occupants, officials add.

Officials did not provide a cause for the fire or estimated loss value.
