PAHRUMP, Nev. (FOX5) — The Nye County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating a rumor of a shooting incident supposed to take place this weekend at the Fall Festival.
The sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post shared Wednesday it has talked to several people who relayed the information.
Deputies will be on site from early afternoon to after the close of the event each day, according to the sheriff’s office. Private security contracted by the Town of Pahrump will also be present.

The sheriff’s office said it has not been able to develop any solid information of anyone with first-hand knowledge of the incident happening.
Investigators are continuing to look into the matter “to the fullest extent possible,” the sheriff’s office said, but said so far it remains a rumor being spread.
The sheriff’s office said it will update its post if it receives further information.
