LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas police are investigating a murder-suicide in southwest Las Vegas Thursday night.

Officials with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the homicide happened around 5:30 p.m. in the 8200 block of W Cupertino Heights Way, near Buffalo Drive and West Mountains Edge Parkway. Police said they received a 911 call from a neighbor who said someone had been stabbed.

When officers arrived, they made entry to a house and found a man suffering from stab wounds. Police rendered aid until medical arrived, but he died at the scene.

Police said the suspect used the victim’s car to drive to a Las Vegas Strip resort garage. Lieutenant Robert Price said the suspect had called the victim’s family and said he had killed him.

Police said they used a drone to locate the suspect. When officers arrived at the garage, they tried to communicate with him, but he died by suicide.

According to Metro’s investigation, the two men were roommates, but had been arguing before the stabbing.
