The chamber of commerce said it explores issues big and small, including international issues that have a far-reaching impact on local businesses. Other topics included housing challenges, like rising prices, and a growing community. Experts also discussed economic issues more specific to the area.
Scott Muelrath, president and CEO of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, said one topic of interest was the contrast between gaming revenue and tourism numbers.
“It’s a curious comparison that the gaming win is up, but the tourism is down,” Muelrath said. “So, why that dichotomy exists and what sort of impact that represents broadly for Southern Nevada.”
This was the 11th year of the event.
