LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — North Las Vegas leaders laid out a long-term vision for the city’s future as Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown’s term comes to a close.
At the State of the City, leaders highlighted growth, redevelopment and business expansion, with a focus on Apex Industrial Park.
City leaders outlined a comprehensive vision for the next 30 years, including projects like Hylo Park, a new Nevada State University campus downtown and continued revitalization in the city’s urban core.
Apex Industrial Park drives economic growth
Apex Industrial Park is a major part of the city’s future, with new development bringing new industry and expanding the city’s tax base.
Weston Adams, the President and CEO of Western States Contracting said new leases are already in place, more buildings are on the way and momentum continues to grow with projects like a new data center and truck plaza.
Apex already includes around 30 businesses, many with industrial or technical operations, and there is still room for much more growth ahead, according to the landowner.
“They have a wonderful team at the city of North Las Vegas. They have a long-term vision,” said Adams, “Mayor Goynes-Brown has been a wonderful partner and a great leader for the city. She’s at the end of her term, but she’s not leaving without having the next, you know, 5, 10 years planned out.”
Adams said his group alone has about 12 buildings planned at Apex, with development expected to continue over the next 20 to 30 years. He said the project is helping shape what North Las Vegas could look like for decades to come.
