LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Broadway in the Hood will stage “Sister Act: The Musical” at the Pearl Theater at the Palms on April 12, with shows at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Based on the 1992 film, the story follows disco diva Deloris Van Cartier, who hides out in a convent after witnessing a crime and transforms a struggling choir into a soulful sensation.
Production team
The show features original music by composer Alan Menken. The local production is directed by Broadway in the Hood alumnus Malik Jordan, with choreography by Justin Bryant and stage management by Lauren Dumas.
Supporting the Legacy Theatre of Excellence
Broadway in the Hood said the production supports the Legacy Theatre of Excellence, Nevada’s first African American-owned performing arts and education complex designed to train artists.
