LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A carjacking suspect is in custody following a police pursuit in North Las Vegas Monday morning, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Police say they located a stolen vehicle on the roadway near Tonopah Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard, around 1:14 a.m. The vehicle reportedly tried to flee and police say they followed with an Air unit until the driver abandoned the car and tried to run away on foot.
The suspect was taken into custody near Ann Road and Lawrence Street. LVMPD and North Las Vegas Police responded to the incident. Police say officers will remain in the area while the investigation continues.
