LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Metro Police responded to a crash in Laughlin where a pedestrian was killed.

The crash happened just after 1 p.m. Sunday on Casino Drive and Tropicana Drive in Laughlin.

According to Metro, a vehicle was headed south on Casino Drive when a pedestrian walked in front of the car and was hit.

Investigators discovered through evidence, witness statements and video surveillance that the pedestrian was crossing South Casino Drive from west to east, north of a marked crosswalk.

The pedestrian, an 80-year-old man, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as 82-year-old Richard Salecki, did stay on scene after the collision.

Metro Police report Salecki did not show any signs of impairment.

This is an ongoing investigation.
