LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Two people were burned after a boat fire near Lake Mead.

Fire crews responded to a report of a fire and explosion on a fuel dock at Calville Bay. The Clark County Fire Department received the call at about 3:30 p.m.

The fire department says the boat caught fire due to an explosion when the boat left the fuel pump area. Bystanders were able to contain most of the fire with extinguishers.

The fire was cleared around 4 p.m.

Crews say the two people hurt were on board the boat. One was taken by air while the other was transported by a ground ambulance to a hospital.

One dog was found dead on the boat.

The fire department is investigating the fire.
