LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The officer who shot at a man believed to be holding a firearm at an apartment complex near Downtown Las Vegas has been identified.

Daniel Abraham, 22, who has been employed with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department since 2025, was involved in the incident, according to LVMPD officials.

The incident happened on Tuesday, April 21, just before 5 p.m. in the 200 block of North 11th Street, near Ogden Avenue.

Police said the suspect was reported to have created a disturbance at a nearby apartment complex and destroyed property.

According to court records, George Barrios is facing multiple felony charges, including assault of a protected person, resisting a public officer, and a prohibited person with a firearm.

Abraham has been placed on routine paid administrative leave.
