LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Nevada’s top election official is rolling out new ways to get voters trusted information ahead of the 2026 June primary.

The Secretary of State’s office is launching a text message campaign with reminders to update voter registration and explain how to vote. The office is also launching a new website to allow voters to sign up to track their mail ballots.

“At a time when voters can be overwhelmed with misleading and confusing messages about our elections, it’s crucial that state and local election officials provide accurate, nonpartisan and trusted information voters need to build confidence and participate,” said Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar.

Text message campaign

Voters across Nevada will start receiving text messages with instructions and reminders on how to update their voter registration and vote in the June primary election. Text messages will come from the number (855) 448-8323 and be available in English and Spanish. The messages will also include an image of the Nevada State seal.

Nonpartisan voters will get messages about how to take part in the Democratic or Republican primaries. Carson City nonpartisan voters will be told they will not get a primary ballot because there are no nonpartisan races there.

Inactive Democratic and Republican voters will receive a message encouraging them to check their address information and update if needed.

The number will also be used for rapid response communications, including reaching out to voters who need to cure their ballot.

Ballot tracking

Voters can track the status of their mail ballot by signing up for the free ballot tracking service on MyBallot.NV.gov to receive updates via email, phone call or text message once enrolled.

Tracking updates may include when a mail ballot has been sent, received by the county election office, accepted for counting, or flagged by the county election office and requires attention.

The state will provide ballot tracking services through the Ballot Scout service. Voters who previously signed up for ballot tracking with the state through BallotTrax will receive an initial message alerting them of the change.

Identifying official election mail

Official election mail will include the Official Election Mail logo, a registered trademark of the United States Postal Service. The logo is permitted for nonpartisan use only by federal, state and local government election officials.

Voters with questions can call the Secretary of State’s Elections Division at (775) 687-VOTE (8683) or email [email protected] .

The deadline for a voter to cure their signature and have their ballot counted after Election Day is June 15, 2026.
