PAHRUMP (FOX5) — The Nye County Sheriff’s Office seized 84 grams of THC and multiple other drug paraphernalia items from juveniles who were allegedly distributing to Pahrump Valley High School students.
Deputies with the Nye County Sheriff’s Office Division of School Services and Patrol were called to the campus April 27 after school staff reported a juvenile male was found semi-conscious and believed to be suffering from narcotics use, the sheriff’s office said. The student was taken to Desert View Hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, deputies contacted the student’s younger brother, who provided a vape pen and told deputies he had allowed his older brother to use it, authorities said. The vape pen was tested and found to contain THC, the primary psychoactive component of marijuana, the sheriff’s office said.
The younger brother also told deputies from whom he got the pen, authorities said.
Deputies found the identified location and made contact with twin brothers Mark Young and Daniel Young, the sheriff’s office said. Investigators said they found similar vape pens in the brothers’ vehicle, along with about 9 grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
A search warrant was later obtained and served at the brothers’ residence, where investigators said they found additional THC vape pens and about 2.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Valerie Rodgers was also arrested at the home, authorities said.
Investigators believe the vape pens were distributed at Pahrump Valley High School, raising concerns about illegal drugs being brought onto campus, the sheriff’s office said.
In total, deputies seized about 11.68 grams of suspected methamphetamine, about 84 grams of THC, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia, authorities said.
The sheriff’s office did not release the juvenile’s name or condition and did not specify the suspects’ ages or the exact charges.
