LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The suspect accused of killing a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer has changed his plea.
Tyson Hampton, now 27, appeared in court Thursday, where he changed his plea from not guilty to guilty. He initially entered the not-guilty plea in February 2023.
Hampton is accused of firing 18 shots as he drove away from a domestic disturbance call back in October of 2022, fatally wounding Officer Truong Thai. Officials said Thai was shot in the torso and later died at Sunrise Hospital.

Hampton faces 28 charges, including murder, attempted murder, and battery.
Sentencing is scheduled for June.
