LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A fifth suspect has been arrested in connection to a deadly January shooting.

A 17-year-old male juvenile was identified as a suspect in the apartment shooting by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. He was taken into custody on Saturday, March 2 in El Centro, California and booked at a local detention facility on charges of open murder, robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery.

LVMPD says he is currently awaiting extradition back to Las Vegas.

This news comes after LVMPD made four other arrests in connection to this case, including two 18-year-olds.

Officers initially responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 2200 block of North Torrey Pines Drive on the night on Jan. 2. A man was located in an apartment, and appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound.

Arriving medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

Officers were also notified of a man who arrived at a nearby hospital with similar, but non-life-threatening injuries. It was determined that his injuries were sustained during the shooting.
