LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — UNLV coach Josh Pastner has been busy reshaping the Runnin’ Rebels this offseason after the team’s run to the second round of the NIT, bringing in eight new players and returning only two from last season’s roster, the program said.
Pastner has signed eight newcomers, all listed at 6 feet or taller, as UNLV heads into another rebuilding year. Standout freshmen Tyrin Jones and Issac Williamson are the only returning players, according to team officials.

Pastner also suggested a long-term idea for the program’s future: an investor-backed model centered on UNLV basketball.
With ongoing speculation about the possibility of an NBA team moving to Las Vegas, Pastner said investors could consider buying into the Runnin’ Rebels first.
UNLV players are expected to focus on individual training during summer workouts, with team training set to ramp up in the fall, Pastner said.
