LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A member of the Primm family explains the next steps to keep Stateline businesses open and operating after the current operator ceases after July 4, and what comes next to revive the area.
The Primm family announced Tuesday that it signed an agreement with Las Vegas-based Terrible’s to take over operations of all entities in the area, including casinos, gas stations and the Lotto Store.
The Gaming Control Board must also approve Terrible’s request to take over gaming operations at the Stateline properties; a special meeting is planned for June 25, GCB officials tell FOX5 Wednesday evening.
“We have lots of legal meetings, as you can imagine. Our gaming lawyer has been communicating with the Gaming Control Board. Terribles has their people that are now moving forward, and I think they’re going to try to make sure that they can get their licenses in place here in the next few weeks before July 4th to have that all so they can take over and jump in before July 4th. We believe we have a very, very high chance of making sure that it’ll stay open now past July 4th,” said Cory Clemetson, grandson of Primm founder Ernie Primm and president of the Primm South Real Estate Company.
Terrible’s provided FOX5 the following statement:
Primm occupies a unique place in Nevada’s history and in the minds of millions of travelers who have passed through this gateway community over the decades. We see tremendous opportunity to help restore energy, excitement, and momentum to these properties through our operational partnership with the Primm family.
Our immediate priority is ensuring continuity for the current employees, residents, guests, and business partners while establishing a solid foundation for future growth. From day one, our team will be focused on improving operations, enhancing the customer experience, and identifying opportunities to invest in the properties and surrounding amenities.
We believe Primm can once again become one of the most vibrant travel destinations on Interstate 15, and we are excited to begin that journey. Our goal is simple: when travelers cross the state border, we want Primm to be the first stop where the Nevada experience begins and the final stop on the way home, leaving lasting memories and a strong desire to return.
We look forward to sharing more details about our plans in the future.
