LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries Friday night after being hit by a vehicle while crossing West Flamingo Road outside a crosswalk, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Police said the crash happened around 9:08 p.m. June 26, 2026, on West Flamingo Road east of South New Forrest Drive.
Investigators said a 2013 Toyota Highlander was traveling westbound in the right of three lanes when the pedestrian crossed northbound outside a marked or implied crosswalk and moved in front of the SUV.
The front of the Highlander struck the pedestrian, and the person was projected onto the roadway, police said.
Emergency crews took the pedestrian to the UMC Trauma Center, where doctors determined the injuries were life-threatening.
The driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, police said.
The crash remains under investigation by LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.
