According to an arrest report obtained by FOX5, police determined that the boy and his brother had been riding bikes without adult supervision after dark on the night of the crash.

A witness called 911 after seeing the vehicle driving in front of her on North Las Vegas Boulevard hit the boy, the report states. She told dispatchers that her husband took the other boy to the children’s home to alert the parents, while she remained with the injured child until an ambulance arrived.

“It’s very traumatic. It took me a second to actually get out of the car,” she said.

Police documents reveal that the children’s father, Mark Ecott, did not know where the boys were at the time of the crash. Their mother, Aubrey Lambdin, was not home and told police she had not lived at the residence for several months, according to the report.

The couple is due back in court on Thursday, July 16.
