One program, dubbed “Operation Ballot Box,” focused on improving election preparedness and security through cross-department planning and collaboration, officials said.
A second initiative, “Polls, Peace and Pups,” received an honorable mention as a wellness program designed to support poll workers with stress-relief resources during the election cycle, the city said.
City Manager and CEO Stephanie Garcia-Vause praised the City Clerk’s Office, led by Louis Valdez, for earning the recognition.
“These awards reflect our team’s dedication to improving the election experience for voters and the employees who support them,” Garcia-Vause said in a statement.
