LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A utility pole fire in the southeast valley knocked out power for more than 1,400 NV Energy customers Monday morning, according to the utility company.

NV Energy said the outage began at approximately 2:45 a.m. around Russell and Mountain Vista.

According to the company’s outage map, the cause is listed as “pole mounted equipment failure.” Viewer video obtained by FOX5 shows the pole engulfed in flames, though the cause of the fire has not been determined.

At its peak, more than 1,400 customers lost power in the area. The company said power has since been restored to all affected customers.

An investigation into the outage is ongoing.
