LAS VEGAS (FOX5) —The 2026 National Aviation Day Photo Contest is underway at Harry Reid International Airport, and the deadline to submit photos is Friday, July 24.
People can snap photos of takeoffs and landings, at the aircraft viewing area off Sunset, or take photos from around the airport capturing a travel experience.
“Participants may submit up to three original photos by emailing [email protected]. Please include a short caption with each photo. Images must be at least 200 DPI or suitable for reproduction at a minimum size of 11 x 17 inches. Previously submitted photos are not eligible,” according to an airport Facebook post.

What winners receive
The airport says winners will be notified by August 14, 2026, and announced via LAS-owned social media channels the week of August 19, 2026.
“Winning photographs will be featured on LAS social media channels and displayed in the National Aviation Day Photo Exhibit at Harry Reid International Airport by Terminal 1 C/D security checkpoint in celebration of National Aviation Day on August 19, said the airport.
What locals are saying
Michael Pairich, who says he visits the viewing area two to three times a day, said the location offers a chance to “clear your mind and watch planes land and take off.”
Jaime Wehr, who was also at the viewing area, said of the contest: “I love it. I’m going to do it and have some fun.”
