LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The City of Las Vegas is inviting the community to take part in a series of events celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month through Dec. 5.
The celebrations include fiestas, festivals, concerts, activities and exhibitions.
Art exhibition
“Somos Magia” runs Aug. 3 through Nov. 19, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The exhibition is free and open to the public at the Las Vegas City Hall Chamber Gallery, 495 S. Main St., second floor.
Independence celebrations
“Independencia de México” takes place Saturday, Sept. 12, from 4-8 p.m. at Centennial Hills Park Amphitheatre, 7101 N. Buffalo Drive. The event is free and open to the public.
“El Grito: Mexican Independence Day Celebration” takes place Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 5-9 p.m. at the Las Vegas Civic Center, 525 S. Main St. The event is free and open to the public.
HONOR Latino Awards
Nominations for the HONOR Latino Awards open Tuesday, Sept. 15, and close Sunday, Nov. 15. The nominations recognize outstanding contributions to the community. Residents can nominate someone at lasvegasnevada.gov/HONOR.
Food Truck Thursdays and lunchtime concerts
The Food Truck Thursdays and Lunchtime Concert Series takes place Sept. 17, Sept. 24 and Oct. 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Las Vegas Civic Center outdoor plaza, 525 S. Main St.
Food trucks scheduled for Sept. 17 include Empanadas 702, Aguas Frescas 702 and Ole Manny’s Seafood Shack.
Food trucks scheduled for Sept. 24 include The Argentinian Trailer, Raspados Patty, Tacos La Estancia and Tamales La Reina.
Food trucks scheduled for Oct. 8 include Mia D’licias, Lotti’s Cuban Bakery LLC, Saul’s MX Kitchen and Ole Churros.
Performances during the series include Desmother on Sept. 24 at 12 p.m. and Mariachi Alas Doradas de Keller Middle School on Oct. 8 at 12 p.m.
Concerts and cultural events
A free concert featuring Nella takes place Friday, Sept. 18, from 7-9 p.m. at the Las Vegas Civic Center outdoor plaza.
The Binational Health Fair 2026 takes place Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the East Las Vegas Community Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
A free concert featuring Suika T and Band takes place Saturday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. at Centennial Hills Park Amphitheatre.
The Mariachi Conservatory of Las Vegas presents “Between Life and Death” on Friday, Oct. 9, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd. The event is free and open to the public.
The Las Vegas Book Festival takes place Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Historic Fifth Street School, 401 S. Fourth St. The event is free and open to the public.
Día de los Muertos events
The Día de los Muertos Festival takes place Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1-7 p.m. at the Las Vegas Civic Center outdoor plaza. The event is free and open to the public.
Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Blvd. North, will have extended hours Nov. 1 and Nov. 2, from 5 a.m. to midnight, for Día de los Muertos.
Closing event
The Tamales and Mariachi Festival takes place Saturday, Dec. 5, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Las Vegas Civic Center outdoor plaza. The event is free and open to the public.
