LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Two men have been arrested following a shooting outside a laundromat on East Twain Avenue, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The shooting happened the night of Aug. 23 at 525 East Twain Avenue, police said. LVMPD dispatch received a 911 call reporting the shooting at approximately 9:53 p.m., according to the arrest declaration.

How the shooting happened
South Central Area Command patrol officers responded to the scene and found two men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, police said. One was identified as Patrick Collette, who had a gunshot wound to his leg, and the other as Jerrome Desihotel, who had a gunshot wound to his hand, according to police. Both were taken to Sunrise Hospital for treatment, police said.
A third man, later identified as Anthony Bennett, walked into Sunrise Hospital with a gunshot wound to his upper left arm, according to the arrest declaration. Officers determined all three were involved in the same incident, police said.
Police said more than 20 rounds were discharged during the shooting, striking multiple vehicles.
Witness accounts
According to the arrest declaration, witnesses said an argument broke out among several men in front of the laundromat before the shooting began. Detectives said witnesses identified Bennett and Desihotel as being involved in an exchange of gunfire with another man.
Bennett told detectives he was armed and fired back after being shot at, according to the arrest declaration. Desihotel denied being armed during the shooting, telling detectives he was not permitted to possess a firearm due to a separate, ongoing firearm case, police said.
Witnesses parked nearby told detectives their vehicle was struck by gunfire, according to the arrest declaration. Crime scene analysts documented bullet damage to two vehicles and recovered 23 cartridge casings at the scene, police said.
Desihotel was arrested on charges of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, vehicle or craft; discharging a firearm where persons might be endangered; and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, according to the arrest declaration.

The arrest declaration states Bennett was previously convicted of felony drug and weapons offenses in California and had an active protection order against him at the time of the shooting.
The case remains under investigation by LVMPD’s Violent Gun Crime Unit, according to the arrest declaration.
