LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a deadly backyard shooting in Las Vegas last month.
Gabriel Rivera, 23, was taken into custody on Monday, August 31 in Menifee, California and faces an open murder charge for the August 5 death of a man near Stewart and Lamb. He was booked into the Riverside Southwest Detention Center pending his extradition back to Las Vegas.

Officials responded to a home at the 4500 block of East Ogden Avenue just before 4:30 a.m. following reports of a man shot in the backyard. Officers located a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and would later be pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators had originally said several people coming from the residence had been detained following the incident but emphasized that no one had been formally charged at the time.
The shooting remains under investigation.
