LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Construction and circuit preparation for the Formula 1 Heineken Las Vegas Grand Prix 2026 have kicked off, bringing temporary overnight lane closures and construction updates to the resort corridor.
Contractors are starting work on the track’s overhead lighting system starting on Monday.
The installation is split into two phases:
- Phase 1: Monday, September 7 through Friday, September 18
- Phase 2: Monday, October 26 through Friday, October 30

During these times, motorists should expect two lanes to be closed overnight from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Sunday through Friday. At least one lane will remain open in each direction during these overnight hours.
Officials say all standard traffic lanes will remain fully open during the daytime to minimize disruptions to commuter traffic.
Work on the Top Golf vehicle bridge is scheduled to take place starting Monday, September 7 through Friday, September 25. Officials say this project is expected to have zero impact on public roadways. All existing lanes on Harmon Avenue will remain open at all times.
To keep local residents, workers, and visitors informed, race organizers have launched an interactive tracking website.
The portal serves as a resource detailing build and dismantle schedules before, during, and after the race, complete with an interactive map to track active construction zones, F1 officials say.
