LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — After surviving a wild, 19-hit shootout against the Oklahoma City Comets, the Las Vegas Aviators are now just one victory away from hoisting the Pacific Coast League (PCL) trophy once again.
The 13-11 contest played out in front of 5,403 fans at Las Vegas Ballpark to open the best-of-three PCL championship series Tuesday night.
Multiple Aviators players recorded multi-hit games including catcher Bryan Lavastida and third baseman Luke Mann, who each drove in three runs.

Lavastida would go on to finish 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored, while Mann went 2-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base.
Oklahoma City starter Jackson Ferris took the loss after recording six runs on six hits and four walks over three innings. Five of those runs were earned.
Las Vegas starter Kade Morris earned a no-decision after allowing five runs on five hits and three walks in four innings pitched while Taylor Rashi registered the win.
Comets right fielder Zach Ehrhard would go 2-for-3 with a home run, two walks, two RBIs, and three runs scored.
Meanwhile, in the International League’s best-of-three finals, the visiting Rochester Red Wings edged the Memphis Redbirds 4-3 to claim Game 1.
The Aviators will look to capture its second straight PCL title when Game 2 gets underway on Wednesday.
First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. in Summerlin.
